Every time I look at these photos, I am moved by the quiet beauty that surrounded this elopement. Kelly & Curtis wed in a very small ceremony, and planned a styled shoot in the canyon to announce their marriage to their friends. The resulting photos by Kristine Elisabeth are so tender, so meaningful, that you almost have to look away.
Kelly gave me her blessing to create a truly natural bouquet with dried elements, natural grasses, and forages, along with cut flowers. The Palo Duro Canyon landscape, with its sierra & clay color palette, juniper berries and sage, offered inspiration. I wanted the bouquet to feel at home in this setting, but also elevated and distinct from it. A surprise of white in the midst of the canyon. To complete our styled shoot, I dressed a little cake with whimsical bleached oak leaves, lunaria, and white berries. The day, as a whole, was earthy and magical, all at the same time-- just like love is.
