Meadow: a remembered and imaginative place.
The word "meadow," for me, is synonymous with freedom, beauty, prayer, and perfect peace. Among all of my life's themes, meadows are particularly recurrent: they have been following me all of my life. I first discovered meadows as a little girl-- and a painfully shy one, at that. Nature and beauty had a way of coaxing me out of my shell; when I walked through my first meadow, knee-deep in wildflowers, I could hardly believe that such a dream world existed. Here, I was at rest, and something more-- I was creatively inspired, perhaps for the first time. The experience of flowers prompted me to write and sketch all I had seen. To this day, I return to careworn diaries and nature journals with bits of clover pressed between the pages, and see the first murmurings of a creative voice. The first indications, perhaps, of who I would become.
Today, flowers continue to open me up-- to wonder, beauty, prayer, and praise to God, the Creator of all things. When I work with flowers, I feel connected to the better parts of myself. When I am distressed, distracted, or afraid, I meditate on meadows, imagining myself walking through lavender or golden fields. A meadow is the place I associate with freedom-- from fear or limitation-- and ease of being.
I wanted to protect and keep for myself a 'meadow' for all times. Thus, "Meadow" was born. This business is a reflection and an expression of all that I value: beauty, which can heal the heart; prayer, which alone transforms, saves, and renews it; nature, which we were made to tend, and artistry, which I could not live without. I want to offer beautiful flowers, and I want, moreover, to offer my clients these "meadow" qualities. My business began as The Daisy Chain Studio, and was renamed Meadow to get back to the root of things, my "why."
My aesthetic is-- I hope-- the outer expression of these desires. Through my arrangements, I want to recreate the feeling of meadows, gardens, and places where flowers grow freely. My style tends towards looseness, naturalness, and freedom; I like my flowers to have room to breathe and be. I try to authentically express the emotional quality of each given project, or the person behind it. I cannot create the same thing twice. Instead, I approach each wedding, event, and editorial project as a unique work of art.
Over the years, I have learned to infuse my flowers with all of the art forms I study: not only floral design but art, architecture, dance, fashion, and more. I believe the world to be brimming with ideas and art to be a living, open-ended experience. I want my flowers to reflect the intensity with which I study, observe, and apply the principles of art and artistry. I'm after a refined, crafted, artistic product. And I believe in diligence, effort, and formidable technique as these things serve the interpretation, and serve to create a more elevated experience.
I feel fortunate to work with a medium I feel so personally and creatively connected to. Flowers can, in an instant, speak and minister to your heart. I know, because they have had this power over me all my life. I hope my flowers give you a glimpse of promise, hope, grace, and beauty-- if only for one fleeting, inspired moment.
This work has introduced me to the people who have changed my life, and it has brought me in close contact with grace and meaning. Thank you for being a part of this walk. I hope we-- yes, you and me-- get to share a moment of connection, flowers, and a kind of beauty that unites us. My mission and message is to bring the 'meadow' qualities-- grace, freedom, calm, and the experience of beauty-- to my work and those I come in contact with.

About Our Services
Meadow offers artistic, nature-driven designs for weddings, events, and editorials. We work with our wedding and event clients to express the tone and mood of the evening and elevate spaces with the presence of flowers. While florals are our expertise, we are happy to lend guidance to those aspects of coordinating that pertain to floral and table design, including but not limited to linen, candle, vessel, and decor selection. Whether you need a single garden-style bouquet for a romantic elopement, or a completely transformed ballroom for a wedding or gala, we are here to lend my expertise in floral design, and the creation of complete environments.
Although event work is our focus, Meadow accepts special orders beginning at $350. These small orders are ideal for private parties, showers, and milestones, and are perfect for anyone who wants to keep fresh flowers around the home on a weekly or monthly basis. As well, Meadow works with businesses to create weekly designs for lobbies, storefronts, and more. We value our corporate clients and create designs mindful of their brand and space.
Editorials and styled shoots allow us to create visionary, extravagant, even impossible floral designs and installations. It's here where we do some of our boldest work and push the potential of flowers to their highest artistic expression. Whether you need florals for a magazine spread, a campaign for a new collection, or want to collaborate on a styled shoot, we love to use flowers as a means of interpreting your vision. The expressive potential of flowers is limitless. There is something ethereal about them, something intangible, and their power over us is undeniable. Flowers evade understanding yet are designed for human experience-- for the human touch, for delight over their beauty, and quite often for the expression of our dreams.
